What was called the “Easy” brush fire in Ventura County is now fully contained. The nearly 1900 acre blaze started near Easy Street in Simi Valley last Tuesday, and burned south towards Thousand Oaks. Thousands of people had to be evacuated.

Authorities lifted all evacuation orders Thursday for areas impacted by the 1700 hundred acre plus brush fire that's been burning in Ventura County.  At its peak, some 7000 homes were threatened by what's called the "Easy" fire in Simi Valley.

The Easy Fire forced thousands of evacuations Wednesday, with as many as 7,000 homes threatened at the peak of the blaze.  Many people only had minutes to leave.  KCLU's Lance Orozco talks with some evacuees about their experiences.

A 1600 acre brush fire continues to burn out of control and threaten thousands of homes in Ventura County. The Easy Fire started just after 6 a.m. Wednesday near Easy Street, just south of Highway 118 in Simi Valley. With winds topping 50 miles an hour, the fire burned southwest, through the hills around the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.  An estimated 30,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders. 

What’s known as the Easy Fire has burned 1300 acres of rugged hillsides in eastern Ventura County, and has prompted evacuations.  It’s on the west side of Simi Valley.  County firefighters say 6500 homes are considered to be at risk.

The Easy Fire is between Simi Valley and Moorpark.  County firefighters say 6500 homes are considered to be at risk.   It started near Easy Street just after 6 Wednesday morning, and high wind pushed it south along Highway 23, into the hills around the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

A 400 acre brush fire has forced some evacuations in eastern Ventura County.

No homes have been reported damaged by the Easy Fire, which is between Simi Valley and Moorpark.

It started just after 6 a.m. Wednesday near Easy Street, and has pushed south along Highway 23, in the hills by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

A brush fire is burning in eastern Ventura County, between Simi Valley and Moorpark. The blaze is near Tierra Rejada Road, south of Highway 118.

What’s being called the Easy Fire started at around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.  As of 7 a.m., it had burned about 15 acres of land.
