air quality

The unprecedented string of wildfires on the West Coast is creating some of the biggest smoke-caused air pollution problems in Central and South Coast history.

The American Lung Association has released it’s “State Of The Air” report for the nation, and it’s reporting the Central and South Coasts are among the areas with poor air quality. The report assigns letter grades to counties, and give Ventura and San Luis Obispo Counties F’s, and Santa Barbara County a C.

Air quality continues to be a concern in Southern Santa Barbara County as a result of the Sherpa Fire.

The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department, and the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District re-issued an air quality warning for the southern part of the county. The wind has dispersed some of the smoke, but there are still pockets of poor air quality.
