Workers At Luxury Hotel On South Coast Protest Uncertain Working Conditions

About 250 employees of a luxury hotel on the South Coast marched around the property in protest and concern over their future.

Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara has been closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus.

The rally started at the bird refuge in Santa Barbara, moved down a number of streets, and ended at the hotel itself, which is located on the waterfront at Butterfly Beach.

The protesters also passed by the home of the hotel's owner, billionare toy magnate and real estate investory Ty Warner.

Some of the staff say they've worked for the hotel for over 20 years, but are still being kept in the dark about their future employment status.

Many of them said that a job loss would also result in a loss of benefits, including health insurance, which could be devastating as coronavirus numbers continue to stay high across the state.

The Biltmore provided no response.
