Woman Faces Manslaughter Charge For Chase Which Left Man Fatally Injured In Santa Barbara County

A woman involved in a high speed pursuit which led to a fatal traffic accident om Santa Barbara County is now facing some new charges, including vehicular manslaughter.

Dinara Arevalo was driving in Lompoc October 1st when a police car tried to stop her. She fled south on Highway 1, and then Highway 101.

CHP officers say the Lompoc woman’s SUV collided with a pickup truck near Refugio State Beach. The truck crashed, seriously injuring two men, including Michael Garcia of Santa Barbara. He died a few days later.

Arevalo is facing multiple counts including the manslaughter charge, and felony evading an officer causing death.
