Woman Arrested After What Authorities Say Was Arson Attack On Ventura County Resort

A woman has been arrested for what Sheriff’s and Fire Department investigators say was a string of arson fires at a Ventura County resort.

Ventura County firefighters were called to the Ojai Valley Inn at about two a.m. Thursday by reports of a fire.  They found several small spot brush fires around the property, and a larger fire in a maintenance building.

The building had sprinklers which kept the fire from spreading until firefighters could knock it down.  Arson investigators were called, leading to the arrest of Maria Christine Ramirez-Pichardo of Ojai.

There’s no word on a possible motive.  The total damage from the fires is estimated at around $10,000 dollars.
