Winds, Higher Than Average Temperatures Raise Wildfire Potential In Ventura, Santa Barbara Counties

Strong wind conditions are raising the wildfire potential for parts of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties for the next few days.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Ventura and Los Angeles County mountains from 4 p.m. Thursday through 4 p.m. Friday.

There’s also a fire weather watch for southern Santa Barbara County, including its mountains.

The wind is being amplified by warmer than usual temperatures for this time of year, as well as low humidity.  We could see on and off elevated brush fire conditions into the middle of next week.
