Wind Returns To Forecast For Central, South Coasts, But No Public Safety Power Shutoffs Proposed

Oct 15, 2019

The mild weather we’re having right now may be just another break before another wave of potentially dangerous wind, and high brush fire potential for parts of the Central and South Coasts. National Weather Service meteorologists say we could see some strong wind around the end of the work week. At this point, the concern is about the potential for strong wind in Santa Barbara County, in the Santa Ynez Mountain Range.

Also on the list are some Los Angeles County mountains. So far, the forecast calls for Ventura County to get a break, with the strongest wind gusts in neighboring counties.

At this point, Southern California Edison officials tell KCLU News there are no public safety power shutoffs expected in Ventura or Santa Barbara counties.
