A strong wind event hitting the Central and South Coast has eased, but thousands of people are still without electricity due to precautionary power shutoffs.
Red Flag Warnings for dangerous brush fire conditions were cancelled at 10 Wednesday morning. Parts of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties are still seeing wind in the 35 to 50 mile an hour range, but it’s expected to decrease by Wednesday night.
More 20,000 power customers were without power as of midday Wednesday due to precautionary Public Safety Power Shutoffs. The total includes about 20,000 Southern California Edison customers in Ventura County, and several hundred PG&E customers in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.
We could see a big change in the weather this weekend, with a chance of rain on Saturday, and a much stronger storm Monday and Tuesday.
