The cause of a fire remains under investigation after a weekend blaze near the 101 freeway in Santa Barbara County.
The Santa Barbara City Fire Dept. is trying to find out how a fire started in the brush and trees along the freeway at Bath Street about 11 p.m. Saturday night.
Flames and the fire's glow could be seen for several blocks when the fire spread into tall trees.
Traffic did not stop on the freeway but cars slowed near the fire's point of origin around the shoulder, which is also known for homeless encampments.
City fire crews controlled the fire right away.
No one was hurt.
