The only national park on the Central and South Coasts has taken a big hit in visitors due to the pandemic.
Channel Islands National Park reports that the number of visitors was down by 59% in 2020. An estimated 167,000 visitors went to the islands.
While overall visitation was down, some islands actually had a spike in numbers. Santa Cruz and San Miguel Islands saw big increases last year.
All five islands are now open to visitors. Island Packers, which is the concessionaire which offers trips to the islands, is operating daily.
