A Ventura County woman has pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the stabbing death of her aunt.
It’s expected Gina Drake will get an 11 year prison sentence for the June, 2009 murder of Wendy DeRodio. The 61 year old victim was an author, and therapist.
The crime puzzled investigators at first, because her body was found in a locked bedroom in her family’s home. Prosecutors haven’t talked about what they think the motive was in the killing.
Drake will be sentenced on March 29th.
