Ventura County Woman Gets Jail Sentence For Grand Theft

A Ventura County woman has been sentenced to jail after entering guilty pleas to charges she stole more than $180,000 from the tech company which employed her.

Ventura County prosecutors say Lauren Martinez took some of the checks coming into Access Information Protocol of Moorpark and put the money into banking accounts she controlled.

Prosecutors say the 56 year old Newbury Park woman pled guilty to three counts of felony grand theft and one count of forgery. She's been sentenced to 18 months in jail, and ordered to pay more than $300,000 in restitution.
