Ventura County Sheriff’s investigators say they’ve arrested one of the agency’s deputies following allegations he sexually assaulted a female inmate. An inmate at Ventura County’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility told a staff member that she had been inappropriately touched by a deputy while being held in an isolated area of the complex.
Sheriff’s investigators identified Deputy Leonard Lopez as a suspect. He was placed on administrative leave during the investigation. Over the weekend, the 48 year old deputy was arrested on a sexual battery charge.
