Ventura County Man Arrested For Commercial Burglary After Four Hour Standoff

A report of a burglary at a convenience store on the South Coast led to an arrest, but not before a standoff which lasted four hours. Oxnard Police were called the 1600 block of South Oxnard Boulevard just after one Monday morning. The first officers to reach the scene saw someone inside.

They say he ignored orders to surrender, and barricaded himself in the building’s ceiling. A SWAT team was called to the scene. The standoff continued for four hours, with police using pepper balls and gas to try to get Frankie Lindsey of Port Hueneme to surrender.

The 18 year old man was finally taken into custody with the help of a K-9. Lindsey was arrested for assault on a police dog, resisting arrest, and commercial burglary.
