A seven year old Ventura County girl is recovering after undergoing surgery for a skull fracture she suffered when she was injured by a tree falling onto her apartment.
The accident happened during the intense wind on Tuesday. A tree fell on an apartment complex in Santa Paula. 10 units were damaged.
The initial report was that no one was hurt. But, the girl was briefly trapped in one of the units. Family members she received on scene medical attention for what appeared to be minor scrapes. She was taken to Santa Paula Hospital, where it was discovered she had a skull fracture.
The girl was then transferred to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she underwent surgery.
