Ventura County Fair, Santa Barbara's Old Spanish Days Open Wednesday

Two of the largest community events on the Central and South Coasts officially kick off Wednesday morning. The Ventura County Fair’s opening ceremonies are at 11 a.m. at the Ventura County fairgrounds.

The 12 day long event starts with the rock band Styx on the main stage Wednesday night, and country star Martina McBride Thursday night. Meanwhile, Santa Barbara Old Spanish Day begins it five day run Wednesday.

The fiesta marketplaces in De La Guerra Plaza and MacKenzie Park open at 11 a.m. At eight Wednesday night, the traditional opening show, La Fiesta Pequena, takes place at the Santa Barbara Mission.
