Ventura County Educators Start Planning Process For Reopening Schools

Some South Coast education leaders are starting work with Ventura County school districts and county health officials to develop plans to reopen school campuses.

The Governor and the State Department of Education announced this week that they are looking at plans to reopen schools as early as July or August.

Ventura County Office of Education officials say there are a number of questions which have to be answered ranging from safety concerns to financial and labor issues.

For now, no changes have been made to existing school calendars.  Officials say as they develop plans, more details about when campuses will reopen, and what is being done to protect students and staff will be released.
