A new bill co-sponsored by a South Coast congresswoman is pushing for more on the job protections for social service workers. The bipartisan legislation calls for establishment of a grant program for funding new state and tribal workplace safety efforts for social, health, and human service professionals.
The funding could be used for things like safety training, and for safety equipment like video cameras. The legislation was co-authored by Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village, and Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York.
