Ventura County Close To Final Approval Of New General Plan; Key Document To Guide Future Growth

Ventura County could give final approval Tuesday to a plan which would provide guidelines for growth in the county for the next two decades.

Ventura County Supervisors are set to vote on the 2040 General Plan.  It’s a project which has been in development for years.

The General Plan sets policies, and updates things like zoning used by the Ventura County Planning Division, and the Ventura County Planning Commission to make decisions over proposed new development.

The Board heard hours of testimony on the plan in July, and gave preliminary approval to it on a close 3-to-2 vote.  The public hearing on the plan is over, so the board is expected to hold its final discussion, and then vote on the plan.
