Ventura County Based University Reports Largest Freshman Class In Its History

California Lutheran University is reporting the largest freshman class in the more than half century old college's history.

The Thousand Oaks based university has nearly 700 freshman enrolled for its fall semester, which kicks off with new student orientation on Saturday.

University officials say it’s one of the most diverse groups in the school’s history, with more than one in three of its first year students the first in their families to go to college. Total undergraduate enrollment is expected to top 3,000, which is also the largest number in Cal Lutheran’s history.
