USPS Is Hiring 200 People On The Central And South Coasts As Pandemic Increases Package Deliveries

It’s been a year of layoffs and job uncertainty for many.

However, there's some good news for job seekers on the Central and South Coasts, as USPS officials say they're looking to recruit 200 staff across the region to cope with increased demand.

As package and volumes continue to increase due to the steady trend of online shopping, the Postal Service say they anticipate an influx of mail volume in advance of the upcoming holiday season and are looking to hire in numerous roles.

Analia Garcia, USPS Field Recruiter, told KCLU, "We have had an increase in package volumes...everyone thinks the postal service is just delivery mail or working at the window but there's a lot of opportunities in the postal service to make it a career."

USPS are looking to fill roles including: Postal Support Employee (PSE) Mail Processing Clerk, Automotive Technician and Maintenance Mechanic.

To apply, go to the USPS careers site and click on SEARCH JOBS. You can narrow your search by entering keywords such as Santa Clarita, Santa Barbara or Goleta.
