The latest figures show a drop in the jobless rate statewide, and on the Central and South Coasts. In Ventura County, the jobless rate dipped from 3.2% in April to 3% in May. Santa Barbara County showed an even bigger month to month drop, from 3.5% to 2.9%.
And, San Luis Obispo County had the lowest jobless numbers in the region, going from 2.7% in April to 2.4% in May. Statewide, unemployment was 4.2% in May, one tenth of a percent less than in April.
