Unemployment Decreases Across South And Central Coasts

Unemployment dips across the South and Central Coasts.

The California Employment Development Department is reporting a jobless rate of 4% in February for Ventura County, which is down from 4.4% in January.

In Santa Barbara County, the unemployment rate decreased from 5.2% in January to 4.8% last month. And in San Luis Obispo County, the percentage of people out of work fell by 0.3% to 3.2% in February.

However, the state’s unemployment rate of 4.2% remains unchanged from January to February. During that time, employers added nearly 15,000 jobs. California has gained more than 3 million jobs since the economic expansion began nine years ago.
