The latest statistics show unemployment statewide, and on the Central and South Coasts is at its lowest levels in decades.
California’s unemployment remained at 4.2% on May, unchanged from April. But, it continued to drop on the Central and South Coasts.
In Ventura County, it went from an already low 3.3% in April to 3.1% in May. Santa Barbara County showed an even bigger drop, from 3.5% to 3.1%.
San Luis Obispo County had the best numbers in the region, with unemployment going from 2.6% in April to 2.5% in May.
