Two Ventura County Fire Stations Open To Public For Tours

Have you ever wanted to visit a fire station? If you’re living in Ventura County, you might be in luck.

The Ojai and Santa Paula Fire Stations are opening to the public for a free event, with popcorn, hot dogs, and firehouse tours.

The goal is to educate the public about fire safety and having an exit strategy in case of a home fire, which Fire Captain Brian McGrath says can make a huge difference.

"What we're seeing nowadays is that it only takes two or three minutes for your house to become an atmosphere where you can't survive in it," McGrath says. "Being prepared literally can be life or death."

The free event will take place today from 11 am to 2 pm  at the Ojai Fire Station, and next Saturday at the same time in Santa Paula.

Andy worked at KCLU from 2016 until 2022.
