Two Men Rescued By Coast Guard After Boat Sinks In Channel Islands

Two men have quite a story to tell today, after the boat they were in capsized in the Channel Islands, and they had to be rescued by the Coast Guard.

It happened Saturday afternoon.

The men were in a 25 foot long boat near Santa Cruz Island when it flipped over, and sank. They were able to swim to the island.

The men were able to send out a distress call, and used a flare gun to signal an incoming Coast Guard helicopter which flew the men to Santa Barbara Airport. They were taken to Cottage Hospital and treated for hypothermia.
