Investigators are trying to figure out what led to a three vehicle crash which left two people dead, and closed a major highway for hours. The crash happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 126 just east of Santa Paula.
CHP investigators say a westbound car crossed the highway’s center line, colliding head-on with an eastbound car. The westbound car then hit a second eastbound vehicle head-on.
Investigators say the driver of the car which caused the collisions died at the scene. He’s been identified as Eric Carrillo of Oxnard. The driver of the first car which was hit, a Kern County woman, also died as a result of the crash. Three other people escaped with minor injuries.
