Two Arrested Following Car Chase On South Coast

A parolee and a wanted felon were arrested following a car chase on the South Coast.

It happened just before eight Monday night.  Oxnard Police tried to stop a car for a traffic violation near Ventura Road and Cedar Street.  But, the vehicle sped away from the scene.

The officer followed the car at first, but then discontinued the chase after the fleeing vehicle endangered others in the area.

A short time later, officers saw the vehicle on Novato Street, where it had apparently hit a curb.  Police say they arrested Alexis Sandoval as he was running from the scene on foot.

The Port Hueneme man was arrested for felony evading, hit and run causing injury, and a parole violation.  A female passenger wanted for child abuse was also arrested at the scene.
