Two Arrested in Connection With Thomas Fire Related Burglary In Ventura County

Two people are accused of burglarizing victims of the Thomas brush fire.

A family who lost their home near Santa Paula to the December fire in 2017 had a number of effects stored in a still-standing garage. Last October, someone broke in and took some of the items.

Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives received a tip that some of the stolen items were being sold at a Ventura business.

Investigators say they traced the items to Joshua Draper and Elise Main of Santa Paula. The detectives got search warrants, and say they found more stolen items in the couple’s Santa Paula home, and in a storage locker.

The two were arrested on a number of theft and drug related charges. Authorities are trying to see if the two may be responsible for additional burglaries.
