Two Arrested After Carjacking, Pursuit In Ventura and Los Angeles Counties

Police say two gang members were arrested after they carjacked a vehicle in Ventura County, and led officers on a chase which ended in Los Angeles County. A driver was stopped at the intersection of Hubbard Street, and Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley at around 10 Wednesday night when two men forced him from his vehicle. The victim says one of the men attacked him, and they then stole his vehicle.

Simi Valley Police unsuccessfully tried to stop the car as the men fled east on Highway 118. The vehicle got off the freeway on Topanga Canyon Road. The chase went into a neighborhood, but ended when the driver ended up on a dead-end street.

Police say Alex Lopez and Alejandro Novoa then tried to flee on foot, but the Simi Valley men were quickly arrested on carjacking, and felony pursuit charges.
