The number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts is approaching the three thousand mark. We currently stand at 2996 cases. Ventura County has 1,078, Santa Barbara County 1649, and San Luis Obispo County 269.
More than a thousand of the cases in Santa Barbara County are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc.
There have been a total of 47 coronavirus related deaths in the region. Ventura County has had 33, Santa Barbara County 12, and San Luis Obispo County one. Most of the deaths involved older adults with preexisting health conditions.
