Thousands Rally Across South And Central Coasts Against Immigration Policy That Separated Familes

Keep Families Together rally in Oxnard

Thousands of people on the South and Central Coasts are taking to the streets this weekend as part of a national protest against the Trump administration’s immigration policy that separated children from their parents at the border.

A march and rally was held Saturday morning in Oxnard where activists held up signs that said “Immigrants Make America Great,” “Keep Families Together” and “Free The Children.”

Laura Zavala of Oxnard says she wants to see families reunited as quickly as possible.

“We all deserve human rights. These children have become victims. We have human beings that are lost in a country that they don’t know. They are basically here without knowing what’s going to happen to them. We don’t do that to children,” she says.

Marches are taking place in more than 600 cities including Camarillo, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo.
