Teen Arrested After Rifle, Ammunition, Weapons Found In Vehicle Near High School Campus In Ventura

Police say they found a rifle, ammunition, and other weapons in the car of a high school student who got into a confrontation with a teacher in.

It was a stunning discovery outside of Ventura’s Buena High School. It started at around 12:30 Thursday afternoon, when a 16 year old student got into a confrontation with a teacher. 

The teacher says the student wanted to go to the bathroom, the teacher said, but the 16 year old boy left anyway.  The teacher told police school he used the word gun as he left.

The entire campus was put on lockdown. Campus security officers, and police found the high school junior at his car.  Officers say they found an unloaded rifle, ammunition for two guns, a knife, and brass knuckles in the vehicle.  

The teen was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm in a school zone, and possession of a dangerous weapon on campus.   Police do say that the teen didn't threaten faculty members, or students.
