Take A Number, Storms; Three Headed Towards Central, South Coasts

The first in a trio of storms is going to arrive on the Central and South Coasts early Thursday morning, but so far there are no warnings or watches for debris flows in brush fire burn areas. The storm is expected to hit the Central Coast at around midnight, and move onto the South Coast overnight.

Rainfall totals are expected to be up to around an inch, but no major problems are expected in brush fire burn areas.

After a break Thursday afternoon, a stronger storm is expected Friday night and Saturday morning. It could mean one to three inches of rain on the coast and inland, with higher amounts in foothills and mountains. At this point, meteorologists say we could see some minor street flooding and debris flows, but they don’t think we will see heavy concentrated rainfall.

We could see showers on Super Bowl Sunday, but that rainfall is expected to be the lightest of the three systems.
