The surge in coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts has eased slightly.

Ventura County is reporting 2287 total cases, Santa Barbara County 2631, and San Luis Obispo County 489.  About a thousand of Santa Barbara County’s cases are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc.

Most of those diagnosed with coronavirus in the region have already recovered.  There have been 73 coronavirus related deaths, with 44 in Ventura County, 28 in Santa Barbara County and one in San Luis Obispo County.
