Storm System Moving Slower Than Expected; No Debris Flow Issues Expected For Central, South Coasts

A storm system headed towards the Central and South Coasts is moving slower than expected, and may not drop much rain in the region. The storm is moving into the area Tuesday night.

While there was the potential for an atmospheric river which could boost rainfall totals, the feed isn’t connecting up with the storm system. We could see a quarter to a half inch of rain, but rainfall amounts are expected to remain below thresholds for problems in brush fire burn areas.

The chance of showers will linger into Thursday. After a break Friday, another small system is headed our way which could mean light rain for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties, and maybe a few sprinkles for Ventura County.
