Storm Moves Through South And Central Coasts; No Problems For Burn Areas

Wet weather is hitting the South and Central Coasts as a storm moves through the region.

The rain is steady and widespread but not intense, so no problems are expected for burn areas.

"Most of the rain, the heaviest, has moved across already. But we still have some showers offshore moving inland, and that's what we expect throughout the day," says National Weather Service meteorologist Keily Delerme.

She says the rain will begin tapering off Saturday night. There’s a small chance of lingering showers on Sunday.

Gusty winds of up to 25 miles an hour are accompanying the rain. The storm is expected to bring 3/4 of an inch to an inch 1/2 of rain to inland and valley areas and up to two inches to the foothills and mountains.

Another storm is expected to arrive on Tuesday.
