South Coast Theaters Shut Down By Coronavirus Push Back Reopenings

Some popular South Coast movie theaters have pushed back their reopenings.

Metropolitan Theaters had originally hoped to start the reopening process for its Santa Barbara County theaters this weekend.  Now, it’s planning to start in July.  The Metro 4 Theatres in Santa Barbara, and the Camino Real Cinemas in Goleta will start showing films again July 10th

The chain will reopen its other four theater complexes in Santa Barbara County throughout the month of July.  The last one will be its biggest theater, the Arlington Theater, on July 31st.

When the theaters reopen, they will include steps like social distancing between groups of people, and a number of safety precautions at ticket booths and concession stands.
