A hard liquor license set to go into effect at a CVS Store on Santa Barbara's Eastside has been slapped with last minute restrictions.
These include advanced rules and regulations on the type of alcohol that can be sold, at what times, and in what quantities.
The changes have been approved by the City of Santa Barbarba and the State Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC).
Complaints have come in about alcohol use in the areas, as well as about a number of homeless people loitering in the vicinity.
The Santa Barbarba Police Department worked with the ABC as well as attorneys for the CVS store to reach a decision.
The final stipulations include limiting the sales and service of alcohol from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., prohibiting the sales of small bottles of hard liquor or wine, as well as making the sale of beer restricted to a six-pack minimum, with no single-sales. CVS has also agreed to patrol the property hourly to prevent loitering.
