South Coast College Announces Finalists For New Superintendent/President

A South Coast college has narrowed its search for a new Superintendent/President to five candidates. Santa Barbara City College is looking for a replacement for Dr. Lori Gaskin, who is retiring this August.

The finalists include San Diego City College President Anthony Beebe, Barbara Kavalier, who’s President of Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas; and Kindred Murillo, who’s President of Lake Tahoe Community College in South Lake Tahoe. The other two finalists are Melina Nish, the President of Southwestern College in Chula Vista, and Jill Stearns, the current President of Modesto Junior College in Modesto.

A day long community forum is planned for Monday, April 25th, so the public can hear from the candidates, and ask them questions. Trustees could decide on a new Superintendent/President before the end of the month.
