South Coast City Sets Up Coronavirus Grant Program For Small Businesses

A South Coast city is trying to help some of its small businesses cope with the impacts of the coronavirus crisis.

The City of Thousand Oaks has created a Small Business Assistance Grant Program.  The city will give eligible locally-owned small businesses up to $10,000 in the form of grants.

Businesses must be located in Thousand Oaks on commercial property, have one to nine employees, and must be able to show how they’ve been impacted by coronavirus.

They also have to verify that they haven’t received any state or federal assistance.

The city will take applications for the funding from July 1 to July 20.  The plan is to start distributing the grants in August.  The program is being funded through $340,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant funds.
