South Coast City Launches Effort To Develop New General Plan

A South Coast community has launched an ambitious effort to create a new plan to serve as a blueprint to guide future development.  The City of Ventura has kicked off a General Plan update.

The project is expected to take about three years.  It will include surveys, studies, and dozens of public hearings.  The effort will include creation of a Climate Action Plan to reduce pollution and increase the city’s sustainability.

The new General Plan will provide guidance on development issues for city planners, the Planning Commission, the City Council, and for people who want to build in the city.
