South Coast Beach Gets Improved Access

(Santa Barbara County photo)
Isla Vista's Camino Pescadero Beach now has improved access, thanks to a rebuilt access stairway

A popular Santa Barbara County beach now has a new beach access stairway, replacing one damaged by El Nino driven storms in 2015 and 2016. The 100 foot long, 200 foot high stairwell is at Camino Pescadero Beach, in Isla Vista. It has four concrete landings, a bench, and new walkways and landscaping.

The $670,000 project was funded with a Community Development Block Grant, a UCSB Coastal Fund Grant, and County park maintenance funds.
