South Coast Apparel Company Raises $10 Million Dollars For Environmental Groups; Will Match It

A South Coast company known for its environmental activism reports it’s helping environmental groups around the world with a huge holiday season gift. Patagonia hosted a fundraising campaign intended to help more than a thousand environmental non-profit organizations around the world.

The Ventura-based outdoor apparel company said if people would donate $10 million dollars between November 29th and the end of the year, it would match it with a $10 million dollar donation. Not only did the campaign reach its goal, it did it in 17 days.

Among the groups which will benefit from the campaign are organizations like Santa Barbara’s Environmental Defense Center, and the Ventura Land Trust.
