South Coast Airport Gets New Service This Week

A South Coast airport is continuing to beef up its service, adding its second airline in less than a month.

Beginning Tuesday, Frontier Airlines will offer new nonstop round trip service from Santa Barbara Airport to Denver.

The flights will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

Frontier will be directly competing with United Airlines, which already offers non-stop Santa Barbara to Denver service. It will use Airbus A320 jets, which carry more than 160 passengers.

The airport now has 25 daily flights to eight non-stop destinations. Earlier this month, Sun Country Airlines started nonstop Santa Barbara to Minneapolis-St. Paul service.
