Some Ventura County Communities Impacted By Public Safety Power Shutoffs In Face Of Santa Ana Winds

The Santa Ana wind conditions which have created an increased brush fire danger have prompted a number of public safety power shutoffs in Ventura County. As of noon Monday, Southern California Edison official report about 8900 customers in the county have been impacted. They include some in the Santa Paula, Moorpark, Simi Valley, and Santa Susana areas.

Many more customers in Ventura County could potentially be impacted. More than 80,000 have been put on notice that they could lose power as part of the efforts to prevent power lines from accidently sparking brush fires.  Here's a link to Edison's list of affected areas: www.sce.com/safety/wildfire/psps

Santa Barbara County isn’t on the list for potential Edison or PG&E cutoffs. San Luis Obispo County also isn’t on the potential PG&E power shutdown list.
