Some South Coast Courts Set To Reopen After Months-Long Coronavirus Closure

Ventura County’s courts are beginning a phased-in resumption of services.  But, despite the reopening of courtrooms and clerk’s offices, public access to the courthouse will still be limited.

The clerk's offices are resuming the processing of court documents, but they must be submitted by E-delivery, mail, or through drop boxes outside of the courthouse.  They will remain closed to visitors.

Then, on Monday, the court will begin a phased reopening of courtrooms, and clerk’s offices.  Access will be limited to court personnel, attorneys, people involved in proceedings, witnesses, and jurors.

Jury service will resume on Monday.

People must social distance, and wear masks.  To provide public access to court proceedings, they will be live streamed.

Even with the reopening, many court related services will be available online only.
