Some Airline Service Between Central And South Coasts, Bay Area Impacted By Runway Repairs

A project to rebuild a key runway at a Bay Area airport is disrupting some airline service on the Central and South Coast. The project to upgrade the runway at San Francisco International Airport has disrupted United Airlines flights to Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.

The five daily United flights in each direction from San Francisco to Santa Barbara have been canceled. United’s service between San Francisco and San Luis Obispo have also been impacted. On its website, United says service could be affected through September 26th.

It’s offering waivers to affected passengers, and is helping passenger make alternative travel plans.
