Six Additional Coronavirus Related Deaths Reported On Central, South Coasts

The coronavirus death toll on the Central and South Coasts continues to mount, with six additional deaths reported over the weekend.  Santa Barbara Counties had three additional deaths, Ventura County two, and San Luis Obispo County one.

Looking at the totals, there have now been 177 coronavirus related deaths in the region.  Ventura County is up to 89, Santa Barbara County 72, and San Luis Obispo County 16.  Most of those who’ve died are older adults with preexisting health conditions.

It was a rough weekend for the total number of new cases, with 941 reported in the three counties.  Over the three days, Ventura County had 488 additional cases, Santa Barbara County 292, and San Luis Obispo County 161.

There have been just under 17,900 diagnosed cases in the region.  Most of those who’ve tested positive have already recovered.
