Crews spent the day cleaning up a stinky, smelly mess in a Ventura County community after a sewer line apparently started leaking.
It was discovered just after 9 a.m. Thursday, near 12th Street and Harvard Boulevard in Santa Paula. About a thousand gallons of raw sewage leaked onto the ground from the Ventura Regional Sanitation District line.
The sewage flow was stopped at a nearby pump station, and the broken line was patched. The sewage ended up on soil and rocks, but was stopped before it made it to Santa Paula Creek.
